(a) A building permit is required by any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish, or change the occupancy of a building or structure, or to erect, install, alter, repair, remove, convert or replace any electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system, the installation of which is regulated by the California Building Code, as adopted by the Yurok Tribal Council. Council shall, by policy, adopt and maintain a list of building permit exemptions that shall be attached to the ordinance codified in this chapter. Examples of permissible exemptions include single-story, primary residential structures not to exceed a height of 10 feet measured from the finished floor level to the average height of the roof surface or single story.

(b) Any construction project on the Yurok Reservation that is found to be in violation of this chapter shall be issued a stop work order immediately and could face fines if a permit is not secured in a timely manner. [Ord. 50.1 § 4103, adopted, 5/11/2017.]
