The Council finds and declares that:

(a) It wishes to regulate underground storage tanks and administer underground storage tank operation, installation and removal within the exterior boundaries of the Yurok Indian Reservation (YIR).

(b) Underground storage tanks regulation is necessary to maintain environmental integrity and the health and welfare of the YIR and its residents.

(c) This chapter and all underground storage tank use on the YIR is subject to review by the Council, which maintains authority to amend this chapter or grant exemptions from provisions of this chapter. [Ord. 11 § 3, adopted, 4/7/2005.]
