Cultural patrimony does not apply to trust or restricted assets. Cultural patrimony is objects that have ongoing historical, traditional, or cultural importance central to the Tribe, and they cannot be alienated, appropriated, or conveyed by any individual regardless of Tribal membership. Cultural patrimony is objects that pass outside of probate (nonprobate items) and they are not covered by this chapter. (See Yurok Native American Grave Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) Committee and Chapter 2.30 YTC, Probate – Nontrust Property.) [Ord. 52 § 9103, amended, 4/27/2023; Ord. 50A § 9104, amended, 6/22/2017.]
