(a) The Tribal Court maintains discretion to impose any of the fines or penalties in YTC 18.15.240 for violation of this chapter.

(b) Reduced Penalties. The Tribal Court may convert penalties to community service at its discretion for first time offenders for offenses that do not facilitate or result in the unlawful take of wildlife, with the exception of level four offenses. Community service may be ordered as an alternative to all or any part of the penalties which otherwise would be imposed.

(c) Community Service. Imposing community service is left to the discretion of the Tribal Court. If a person does not obey the terms of any order to complete community service then it shall be converted into the penalty specified for the original offense under YTC 18.15.270.

(d) Prior Convictions. Prior convictions are calculated from the conviction date of a wildlife ordinance offense within the preceding five-year period. [Ord. 77 § 2304, amended, 6/23/2022; Ord. 75 § 2304, adopted, 2/24/2022.]
