Article I. Foreign Child Support Orders

Pursuant to the Full Faith and Credit for Child Support Orders Act, 28 U.S.C. § 1738B, the Tribal Court shall recognize and afford full faith and credit to any child support order of a state or tribe according to its terms if:

(a) The proponent of the foreign order complies with the procedure set forth in this chapter;

(b) The rendering court, pursuant to the laws of the state or tribe in which the court is located:

(1) Has subject-matter jurisdiction to hear the matter and enter such an order; and

(2) Has personal jurisdiction over the contestants; and

(c) Reasonable notice and opportunity to be heard was given to the contestants by the rendering court. [Ord. 50 § 8.2(1)(A), adopted, 3/23/2017.]
