The obligor shall respond to the petition no later than 20 days after service by filing a statement with the Tribal Court, and shall appear for a hearing on the date set by the Court. The filing deadline may be extended to provide respondents who are deployed on active duty in the armed forces or are seasonally employed outside California with an adequate opportunity to respond.
