The court shall immediately, and in no event more than 48 hours, not to include nonjudicial days after being notified of the removal of a child from his or her home, hold an emergency custody hearing. If present at the hearing, a parent/guardian/caretaker of the child may request a continuance of the hearing for the purpose of preparing a response to the allegation that the child is a CINA. The court may grant the request on a showing of good cause for why the parent/guardian/caretaker is not prepared to respond to the allegation. During a continuance, the child remains in the emergency custody of YSS. [Ord. 46A § 1701(g), adopted, 3/24/2016.]
