“Constitution” means the Constitution of the Yurok Tribe, as ratified on November 19, 1993.

“Council” means the Yurok Tribal Council.

“Legislative act” means legislation, rules, regulations, or ordinances as provided in Article IV, Section 5 of the Constitution, but excluding actions to provide a limited waiver of sovereign immunity in accordance with requirements of the Supreme Ordinance (Chapter 1.05 YTC).

“Policy” means the general principles guiding the Yurok Tribe in the management of public affairs. Policy is binding on Tribal entities and staff but does not bind the public.

“Tribe” means the Yurok Tribe acting through the Council and its authorized entities and programs. [Ord. 39 § 5003, amended, 1/21/2015.]
